Educators and Parents join PennSERVE in celebration of YOUTH SERVICE!
Pennsylvania is fortunate to be the home of so many young people who are committed to positive social change. Two Youth Commissioners, a college student and a high school student, are appointed by the Governor to serve on PennSERVE's Pennsylvania Community Service Advisory Board. In addition, a Youth Advisory Council composed of young people from across the state act as ambassadors for service as they encourage volunteerism among their peers.
The talented young people who comprise our Youth Advisory Council have inaugurated an initiative called Do 52! (hours of service, that is). Please read their
DO 52!Flyer, the
Letter to Adults, and the
Log Sheet to record your hours and receive a Certificate of Recognition.
We are the Governor's Office of Citizen Service with a wide mandate to encourage and support civic engagement in the Commonwealth. Our mission is to encourage, develop and facilitate volunteer and citizen community service which builds upon the talents, strengths, opportunities and challenges of people and communities in ways which enhance the quality of life for all citizens of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. PennSERVE requests public input regarding the Pennsylvania State Service Plan.
